Day with Dad

Noah and I were so excited this morning when dad announced he was taking the day off work to spend with us. The weather was kind of iffy, so we started the morning with the boys helping me make cookies for our new neighbors.

Then the day cleared up beautifully, so we decided to head up to U-Village to do some shopping for Noah and Max's rooms. First stop was Land of Nod, our favorite.

Noah loved the store and all the toys they had out to play with. His favorite thing now is if he finds a chair that is his size, he has to sit down and try it out.

And then they discovered this coloring table. It seemed like the perfect distraction while I payed for our purchases. 

Until it was time to leave. Then it was full on snot flying, binkie hurling, meltdown for Noah. Sorry to the shopper that was assaulted by the binkie. This continued on the long journey through the parking lot where every mom we passed smiled with a knowing "been there" look. The boys headed to the car while I sprinted into Pottery Barn Kids and grabbed the first things I saw for Max's room. Sorry Max. Your room will be quite eclectic.

Once we reached the calm after Noah's storm, we headed downtown to meet Uncle Cub for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
Noah loves his uncle Cub and forgot all about that little incident before.
All in all it was a great day... thanks to dad for spending it with us. You can't go shopping with boys and expect the perfect trip; but as the solo girl in the group, I'll keep trying.
