Another Day at the Zoo

Today we escaped the zoo known as my house and headed to the real one. Couldn't believe it when we pulled up and there was no one else there. Was it closed? No, it was just really really cold out. While all the other kids were home  smartly playing indoors, my little munchkins got most of the zoo to themselves. They suffered mild hypothermia but it was a fair trade for getting out of the house.

And they were really excited.

Big and little meerkat, meet big Mason and little Noah.

Mason, oblivious to the fact that he is about to get mauled by the goats.
Noah, hoarding all the goat's food and not giving them any. But he did like them. "Hi Cows!" He said over and over. Guess its time to invest in some animal flashcards.
The Zoo Guide said this tiger was lounging on a heated rock. Seriously? Is that what my zoo membership pays for? And can I get one in my backyard?

Here is the zoo guide telling Noah and Mason all about how the tiger played with this plastic ball, started to eat it, and then got it taken away (seriously sounds like a day at my house). She then started on a informative lesson about plastic and asked the boys what they knew about plastic and if it was ok to eat.
To which Noah replied, "Hi! I see water!" And then the lady just realized she wasted a good 15 minutes on two 2 year olds that had no idea what she way saying besides maybe "ate the ball." So we all moved on.
Not sure who is cooler, Mason in his backwards hat, or the monkey chillin on the log. Pretty close tie.
My little monkey meets the real thing.
And here is the thing Noah was most excited to see at the Zoo... a truck. Seriously could have stared at it for hours.
Mama's little man.
Love these boys.
All tuckered out so they took over Max's stroller. And everything was going good on the way back to the car until we realized we ran something over with the stroller.
And that something was Mason. Let this be a lesson to you all to always use the seat belts. Apparently they are there for a reason.

That was fun! Surprised you didn't do commentary...although that would be a long post between tour guide sally, "anoa, amason" and the stroller incident. :)

Ok, I won't comment on the vest I have seen twice in the last few postings, but I will require that the next visit to the zoo we are included.... Um hello I wanna wear the monkey backpack too, and Jess said "not fair!!!!"

Beck, You know I have to do commentary. You must have seen this before I was done. You will have to read this again. You and tour guide Sally both wasted part of your day.

Cub, Its not a backpack. The monkey has a long tail that serves as a leash for when Noah goes running off. And I'm glad you want one - it would force you to keep up with the group when we let you come out with us.

OOPS! Guess I was a little over eager. I just showed Mason the pics and he's still talking about the tapirs. When I showed him the stroller pic, he said "mommy & aunt jessie were laughing." Hope he doesn't get a complex.
