Sleep Wanted

Sleep is a foreign concept in our house right now. The flu, Max teething, and some developmental milestones has made the nights wakeful and the last month feel like one never ending long day. One part in this equation is that Noah is now in a big boy bed. Please hold your applause. We were in no hurry to make this move because he has always been a great sleeper in his crib. So we made the switch not because he was crawling out or too big. It was because I found this really cute car bedding on sale at Target. My compulsive shopping has come back to haunt me again. Noah and I were both equally excited about the new bedding. And after a week in the bed, he is the only one excited now.
Noah loves his big boy bed. Or should I say, Noah loves getting out of his big boy bed. I had heard from friends that had made the transition that their kids didn't even realize that they could get out. So you could imagine my dismay that first fateful day when I put him down for a nap, and 5 minutes later heard him tromping down the stairs. To add to my shock, when he arrived in the kitchen he was completely naked. "I can't find my bear," he stated matter of factly. (As if that was the problem in this scenario). "Ok.... but why do you not have pants on?" "Oh", he says looking down surprised. "Umm...I don't know. Let's go find my bear." And so began our parade of up and down, up and down. Equally fun was the night Geno was gone at school, I tucked him and then took a shower. Wrapped my head in a towel, stood up, and there is a small person in front of me. "Ahh!" I screamed. "I scare you mommy?" he asked. "Yes, you did." I said when my heart stopped pounding. "Oh, that's fun!" he smiled. Let's do it again!" Sigh.
Here's a picture of the bedding that changed my life forever (cute cousin not included)
Nor is the little brother who was invited up once
And then forever banned after he couldn't control his book eating fetish
But don't feel too sorry for Max. After a bout of flu, back to back sinus infections and ear infections, and multiple teeth erupting at once, you can find him here at his new nighttime address...
1212 Mom and Dad's Bed Lane.
If you want to donate to this cause, please don't send it to this address. All donations can be made directly to these boys parents. We are now accepting Starbucks, Starbucks Giftcards, and money for Starbucks. Thank you.

Love the new bed! Max's position in your bed looks all too familiar...
