Santa Picture

If you cut this picture in half you see one boy that is perfectly miserable and one that is perfectly content. Noah, in fact, looked exactly like Max did in this picture last year, completely terrified. So why the perfect pose for him this year? Well, we had been prepping him for the picture with the big man all week. We had a little talk about how Santa in not scary, and in fact brings a present to good little boys on Christmas. This was his chance to tell Santa the present he hoped for. So we were pretty proud of ourselves when Noah skipped right up to Santa proclaiming, "Hi Santa! Its me, Noah." And climbed right into his lap. "I want a blue car." He shouted, before Santa even had a chance to ask. "And baby Max wants a brown car." he quickly added. They took the picture, we rescued Max and were on our way. But Noah just stood there, staring at Santa. "Merry Christmas Noah," Santa said waving goodbye. "Umm...where's my blue car?" Noah asked expectingly . "Its not christmas yet, buddy." Santa said laughing. "Go get my blue car."Noah replied, his voice now showing irritation. He wasn't messing around. Santa reached into his bag and produced a candy cane. "Oh! Thank you." Noah said smiling happily. And all was well in the world again. "What did you tell Santa you wanted for Christmas?" A saleslady asked Noah when we were shopping later. "Umm, this candy cane. I think." Easy to please my little sweetheart. I'm off now to take back his expensive christmas toys and hit up the dollar candy store.
