The Dentist

Today was Noah's first trip to the to the dentist. Sounds excruciating but I would compare it to a trip to Disneyland for this kid. Seriously. I think we all would be a little more excited about going to the dentist if our dentist's office looked like this:

Waiting Room
Treatment Area:
Complete with giant stuffed animal pillows and movies playing overhead
The hygienists loved Noah. They oohed at his cuteness and he ate it up. "Thank you ladies for brushing my teeth today," he proclaimed. And they were wrapped around his finger.
I was amazed that he sat there calmly while they cleaned, polished, and put fluoride on his teeth. It helped that they let him play with all their instruments first, which turned our 20 minute appointment into a full 50.
After he got to pick out an animal toothbrush and animal floss. And for a kid that carries his toothbrush around like a toy truck this really was Disneyland.
And if that wasn't enough when he was done the dentist gave him a gold coin to put into a machine in the lobby for a prize. He got a tiny baby octopus that tiny Baby Max subsequently put in his tiny baby mouth. And now the octopus has entered into the witness relocation program.
Since the dentist this morning he has become obsessed with his teeth. "Look at my teeth! See them sparkling?" All day long walking around with this giant grin plastered to his face.
Cute. And also creepy when he sneaks up on you with it. But mostly cute. I have my work cut out for me now having to answer to two different dentists on why we haven't been flossing. That's a lot of excuses for me to brainstorm. In the mean time I'll be finding activities for Noah that compete with going to the dentist. Who would have thought.

I will be right next door working that day. I can try and sneak out and take paparazzi shots through the window.

I loved the dentist just for the gifts at the end. Why don't they do that for the adults? Gifts never get old!
Those teeth do sparkle!
