Today was the start of swim lessons and lucky us, the sun decided to join us. Finally, a little summer. I was worried about their little bodies freezing in the pool and last night was having visions of myself huddled under the sun umbrella with a teeth chattering Max. But the sun came a shinin' and we were thankful.
Loungin poolside, Noah, Mason, and Jesse
Mason was really excited this year and dove right in, kicking, floating, and crabwalking until his heart was content.
Noah, my usually fearless little guy, was a little timid. "I'm not going in today, maybe next time." He told me matter of factly. "Ok, that's fine." I said. I'll just drop you off at grandma's (sorry mom) and will pick you up after swim class." "I'm going in!" He announced and hurried over to the steps. After he got in it took a little coaxing from the teacher but she was able to pry him from the steps. And after that it was smooth sailing. He even asked to go back out when they were headed in which made me smile.
Can't help but think how much they change from year to year. Last year Noah was diving in full throttle and this year he needed a gentle nudge. But that's life. Sometimes we take that leap of faith and sometimes we just need somebody to hold our hand. Noah's pretty lucky that he has a whole bunch of somebody's when the need arises.
1 notes:
Glad Noah got the sun to come out today and it was actually warm! can't wait until he is full blown swimming and we can put those float toys to use!
