Pick Me!

There was a period of time that I was the clear favorite in this house. Noah would chase after me crying if I left the room for even a second. I would roll my eyes and complain to whoever was around that I couldn't do anything without my little magnet. But secretly... I loved being the favorite. Since Max has joined the group, daddy has not just been the favorite, he has been the only one Noah wants to be with. Which has been ok with me. Daddy is pretty darn fun.

I can see the appeal. I'm ok with surrendering the crown. Really... I am. Am I convincing anyone? But what I had not anticipated during this transition period were times where Noah wants nothing to do with me. Since the little man arrived, there have been definite no girls allowed moments.  Heading up to read the goodnight stories he says "Daddy read stories." "Ok, can mommy come along too?" "Nooooo!" As he runs away from me gripping daddy. (Ouch.) But I can't blame him. What's mommy doing laying around with that new guy when shes supposed to be pealing my cheerios off the floor like she does every morning? So I've been making an effort these last few days to do more from our old routine. And tonight not only did he want me to give him his night-time cup of warm milk,  he later crawled up on the couch to cuddle while I
was holding Max.

I may have lost my crown, but this made me one happy mama.

Wait till Geno goes back to work, he'll be loving mama again in no time. (Until Geno gets home anyway):)

I love your blogs Jess! I was going to comment on the train throwing but this picture was too precious to pass up :) If you and Geno want a date night in March, I am a pretty good sitter and can probably do something craftier than a dinosaur :)

This is all so familiar - you are amazing and doing an incredible job. You seemed so relaxed when we saw you last. Keep it up Mom - you are a hero of mine!
