The Cafe

My kitchen has officially become a full service cafe. Its my own fault really. Driven by midday boredom last week with all the rain, I spent a considerable amount of time making fun lunches for the kids. Now, usually around 11 am, I hear the orders come streaming in from upstairs. "Cheese Sandwich! Pasta with cheese. Turkey Bagel! Cheese Pasta with some Turkey Bagel!" they scream as they come trampling down the stairs in fits of giggles. "Hey, where's our cheese sandwich?" they say disgustedly as they come into the kitchen, as if it should appear the second its requested. I give them some toys and remind them that it takes time and to go play. And then get to work on my fine diner's requests.
They loved how I garnished their yogurt today. Here it is 2 seconds after I presented it to them.

And  in true school lunch fashion the organized plate compartments became plates of chaos as they hurriedly traded out their snacks.

The sandwiches were dipped in the yogurt and used as paintbrushes on the table.

And they agreed in unison their favorite part of the meal... the milk.

But they are my favorite diners and always leave a good tip. "Next time more strawberries and less of this brown stuff Aunt Jessie." Mason stated today. "The raisins?" "Yeah raisins are so yucky!" Noah proclaims as he stuffs another heaping handful into his mouth. Thinking next week we will stick to PB & J.

Hilarious - I think are you are entering the phase I entered a few months prior. Make breakast, clean up, make snack, clean up, make lunch, clean up and on and on. Hardly leaves time for anything else does it? Well, they look well fed, so you have that going for you! :)

Kids are so picky aren't they, it looks like you made a fine cuisine and it was them that missed out! Hopefully you enjoyed the left overs!
