It was a lovely weekend. With pampering for me and outdoor adventures for the boys. Saturday my friend Sarah took me out for a pedicure and to lunch on the waterfront. It was a breath of fresh air and a much needed day away with my sweet friend. Meanwhile, Geno spent the morning with the boys at the zoo.
Today was a baby shower for Luke, thrown by my sister-in-law Jen. Would not have thought to need a shower for my third boy, but just as with my second, she insisted that he deserved his own party. She is a loving aunt to her nephews.
During the shower the boys pursued more animal adventures. Geno, his brother John, cousin Gerek, and friend Josh journeyed to NW Trek with our two boys, John's two boys, and Gerek's two boys. Quite the undertaking for these dads, amidst the double strollers, juice cups and toddlers running away into the jungle. They survived and had an amazing time. I'm not sure who was more exhausted at the end, the dads or the boys. But to set out on this adventure while their wives relaxed and sipped virgin champagne cocktails, well - we are lucky.

My sister-in-law Jen, the hostess.
My sister.
A diaper cake, Jen's creation.
Little Brother onesie. For the littlest brother of three.
Precious Nova. The only girl so far among all the boys in the family.
A delicious tart, made by Jen. With Luke's signature in berries.
The icing on the cake. This dessert made by Geno's cousin Melissa. Amazing.
Thankful for my caring friends and family. And lucky to have my husband that takes our boys to great places while I am away. The boys are exhausted in bed sleeping soundly. And I am typing this with pretty toes and a refreshed heart.
