We started the week before with some homemade love for dad.
And tapped our inner Van Gogh for a gift for grandpa. My dad loves homemade things more than anything store bought and I think that is reason #100 he is so great.
Van Gogh projects are always clothing optional.
That night I made the boys some ooey-gooey carmel candy brownies. And isn't licking the spoon just the sweetest part of all?
And for Max, the messiest. He puts the gooey in the ooey-gooey brownies.
Noah and I woke up at the crack of dawn eager and excited to make dad breakfast in bed. OR Noah dragged me downstairs at the crack of dawn, groggy and disgruntled, he was so eager and excited to make dad breakfast in bed. Let's just pretend it was the first one. I came downstairs to find someone had added something to my baking list for the day.
Isn't he just clever...! Lucky for him, my love for him outweighed my desire to climb back in bed and tape this to his head, so pampering is what he got!
Geno was so happy when he was presented with his breakfast in bed he ate it right up and then we were off to start our day. OR he fell back asleep after one sip of the coffee and didn't eat his frenchtoast until we re-woke him up 45 minutes later. Let's pretend it was the first one again.
We spent the rest of the day at home, leggos, pixar movies, and more sugary foods baked on demand. It was a really good day. Tonight family came over and we barbecued and had a great meal despite all the rain. The highlight of the night was the homemade cherry crisp. Yum. We were all dreaming of our pajamas after that.
Best part of the day, and many days for me, was watching Geno with his boys. Do these boys know how good they have it? He is Noah's wrestle-mania partner and Noah will play tackle him as soon as he enters the room. He also runs to hug him the second he walks in from work. And now so does Max. They hear the garage door open and they race to see who gets the hug from him first.
1 notes:
See what's on the tv? Thomas's Day Out... We should do that this year!
